Essie Mirror Metallics Collection comprises of 5 metallic chrome like shades. I have four to show you today. Okay, here's the odd part - I was now wondering why didn't I pick up the remaining shade as well. I guess it's because Essie often comes up with collection in six shades instead of five, giving me the illusion that I was saving up on two bottles rather than one! Silly me!
Anyway, back to this collection. I spotted them in Boots awhile back but only came round to buy them a few days ago. I have the least expectation as metallic chrome is so not my thing, I only realized it can be my thing after trying them on. In fact, these Mirror Metallics look really cool and way more gorgeous than I anticipated! Let's head straight to the pictures. Images taken with no base coat, two coats of the polish and top coat. One more thing, I like them sooo much that this post's gonna jammed with pics, so be prepared!!
No Place Like Chrome, a classic silver metallic chrome.

Good As Gold, a classic gold metallic chrome.
That's an awful lot of pictures! Phew......
Let's talk about formula. They are very pigmented and have a thicker viscosity than your average polish, imagine liquid metal. Just try not to go over your strokes over and over within the same coat as it'll definitely ruin everything. If you are in a hurry, you can apply just one coat. The brush is wide and flat, not the thin round brush that you get with the salon bottle. The flat wide brush actually made application so much easier as it minimized the number of brush strokes needed.
Some of you may have already known, this sort of metallic chrome polish is very unforgiving to imperfections on your nails. I don't have much of the ridge problem, if you do, bring out your ridge filling foundation. I did buff my nails before swatching but you probably can still see I have peeled nails!

Overall, I am loving this collection and I'll probably go get the remaining shade soon. I bought mine from Boots at £7.99 a bottle.

ReplyDeletevery pretty! Ouch, 8 pounds each! I thought Essie was expensive here... haha ($10 Canadian)
ReplyDeleteOooohhh lovely - wonder if they'd be good for stamping . . .
ReplyDeleteThe Mirror Metallics I have don't have a flat brush. They have the same old brush as every other Essie I have. :( That stinks because, maybe a flat brush would make me love them more.
